I did

I can honestly swear on my family's life that I really did still know it was on. My best mate was say with his head in his hands, and I kept dragging him to his feet both at 2-1 and 2-2

We were absolutely all over them and were always likely to get at least one, and had done it many times that season in adversity.

I saw what was happening with the qpr team, blowing out of their arses from 85 mins onwards, and then they just collapsed with relief when that goal went in at Bolton. I knew at that point we would win it for sure, I felt they were gonna throw it.

My mate still to this day can't believe how I was behaving, bouncing up jf down cheering them on absolutely convinced it was coming in those final few minutes - which is very unusual for me as I'm generally pretty fucking negative at the games.

Incredible day, always brings a tear to my eye

I don't think anybody wanted it that way, or even envisaged it. It was such a sensational way to win the league that it will almost certainly be never beat.

One of my rag mates said after last year to enjoy it, as I'd never better that feeling. I said that my heart wouldn't take it again and I'd prefer it won in February in future and he said how boring it's been for them at times when they've known it was won for weeks, then actually won it and then still had games to spare. He said the worst was winning it on a Tuesday night without playing because someone else didn't win their game - how do you celebrate that?

Remembering last season and now looking at this, where there's only been glimpses of excitement for at least a month, I can understand what he means. I wouldn't swap winning it like that last season for ten titles in a row. If we never win anything ever again and disappear to mid-table obscurity, that moment will live with me forever, just as Dickov's goal does. And just the commentary from either can still bring a lump to my throat.

Great post and I agree. Best sporting feeling EVER. Absolutely amazing emotional day. So gutted I will probably never feel it again.

Only a Chumps League trophy will be able to top it.

Chumps league is shit.

It would only come close if we beat the scum in the final in a similarly dramatic way.

It'd be nice but unless in similar circumstances there'll be no comparison. Against the Rags, maybe, but we still haven't established who are main contenders are. That will take time and when we start classing a 'Derby' situation against the likes of Barca or Real then we'll know we are there.

I thought we'd blown it when we lost to Arsenal so didn't expect anything after that but the run-in was awesome. I watched the Norwich massacre in the pub and left for a trip to Australia later that week. Me and the Wife are blues. Her brother who we stayed with in Brisbane, his wife and two of his kids are rags and their eldest supports scouse 1. I watched their scouse 2 game with them and leaped off the sofa when they equalised. Then I started thinking, "F**k me, this is back on".

For the derby it was off to The Pig and Whistle where the Brisbane OSC hangs on the advice of Dazby (met him briefly too). It was 5am so no booze. Coffee and juice for the derby!!!1 My nerves were shredded. I was in Sydney staying with a rag mate for the Newcastle game. He wasn't best pleased when I jumped up and started screaming when Yaya scored cos his kids were in bed. He went off to bed sulking and didn't bother watching the rags v Swansea game.

Watched the QPR game in the local with my 2 mates (1 blue, 1 rag), my Wife and her mate (blue). Apart from us there was one other City fan in what is mainly a rag pub. Both games were on in the same room. As soon as Rooney scored all attention switched to our game and you can imagine the piss taking when QPR went 2-1 up. Going into injury time I was just thinking "B*****ds, how can they do this to me". Even when Dzeko scored I thought "Too little, too late" and overwhelming disappointment. At this point, the rags who had dismissed our game and started celebrating suddenly shut up and started watching again. The second goal was still sinking in when Aguero scored. I was just in shock. Me and my mate were just hugging each other and jumping up and down but I was still thinking "What the f**k just happened". As the pub started to empty, there were handshakes and well dones from the majority. No bitterness or trouble. I spent the rest of the day drinking and started nodding off at the mother in laws dining table. I went to bed in my 1981 cup final shirt, a very happy man.

No matter how many times we win trophies, I doubt very much i'll experience anything like that final game ever again. Like I said in another post, we never do things the easy way and I doubt we ever will. "Drink it in" CTID.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.
