As someone said above, and I dont think the press vultures are wise to this one yet, as 'Europa' has until now been off their screen, but:

The constant midweek Europa matches will batter an already battered squad. The great Rafa will either have to field reserves in the Europa and guarantee losing, or go for it and struggle even more in the League.

Shame.

Yeah it's funny, because they are claiming that a good Europa run will limit the damage of lost revenue from the Champions League, but they're taking it for granted that they'll do well in the competition. But this blog shows some pretty convincing reasons why this could be misplaced. The record speaks for itself, big team complacency seems a pretty dire issue.

i cant wait for taggart to have a heart attack and die so i can watch the same thing happen to the rags cos realistically there team isnt good enough the clubs in cripling debt the only thing holding them together is that scottish cunt who manages to get extra ordinary performances out of ordinary players/referees

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the situation but people are suggesting the Dubai issues will hit Abu Dhabi really seriously. Typical City (if true)! Is Lee Peacock still available?

I have a soft pot for Liverpool FC, not scousers, of course. The fact that I can wind-up any Rag mate going on about how many trophies they have won, by simplying stating that Liverpool have won more European Cups / CL.

I don't like the "Cannot beat teh atmopshere at Anfield on a European night" blah blah and the fact that Alan Green supports them. However, as a club there is much to admire. I cannot buy into this "I hope they go bust" attitude. They are a great club. Apart from Leeds, I have never wanted any club to go bump.

I worry about the fact that now they have been knocked out of the CL, they will concentrate on getting a top 4 spot. I would rather they had stayed in the competition.

No, Liverpool's loss will be our gain. Admire them all you want matey, but somebody needs to fall in order for us to make the leap.

It does'nt look that way at the moment. Dubai are out of oil, and are turning themselves into a tourism centre. Abu Dhabi in comparison still have huge oil and gas reserves. They may end bailing Dubai out, but that wouldn't be a catastrophy.
