Hansen has always been one to rant on and on about "diabolical defending", so it's no surprise he took us to town here. The fact that he was so harsh, is in my opinion, a sign of the expectations the MOTD pundits now have for the side. And yes, that obviously does follow us spending some £200 million, but at the same time, we are now playing with the big boys, and I don't think the comments would have been any softer if Arsenal, rags, Chelsea or Liverpool (well maybe slightly so with Liverpool, but Hansen still lays into them as they constantly deserve it). But this is a lot of fuss over nothing, and it seems to me Hughes is just trying to make Bridge feel better, which is fair enough. Anything that stops him playing like a plonker.

Or maybe he's doing a Mourinho and trying to focus the media on him rather than his players? If my team was playing shite and there were a few signs of players being singled out on TV that's what I'd do.

I wish he would and win something but we all know even Hughes supporters thats not going to happen, all m.o.t.d. did was emphasize what Hughes could not see.
When you have WON something you have the right to defend your players Hughes instead should be trying to put his defence right Hughes said what he said because he can not see past his nose,some managers get the best out of mediocrity Hughes his capable of getting mediocrity out of good players, he just said on tv no big name players coming in January looking between the lines he may have been told they don't trust him with money.

What they said, Bridge had a nightmare and Hansen called it so, what's wrong with that? Maybe the public shaming on MOTD along with Hughes tactical analysis will make sure Bridge plays better in future.
