He isn't the answer, but he's better than Richards. Fuck knows what's happened to that cunt the last 18 months.

Your right, his first booking should of been a red obviously. Jesus Christ he got done by the ref, there were worse challenges in the game where no card was shown. His sending of was absolutly fuck all to do with his ability at right back.

Well, no, not really. He should have been standing up to Scotland and forcing him wide or away from goal in that situation, not diving in like a madman. He was always going to be second to that ball.

Incidentally, where the fuck was our right back for the Wigan goal?

I don't know what would have happened. It would have been nice, though out of character, had Zabaleta shown some intelligence in his defending though.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

i think we had another goal in us if we'd had a full team.

By the time Zab went off, shots were 10-4 to Wigan and they were controlling the game. So I would have to guess no. But who knows.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Voted yes but by no means certain. That was the kind of tight game though that sides like the rags have often won in years past by bringing on quality, fresh legs at the death & going for it. Zabba's stupid behaviour prevented us from doing that.

The ref was shit, we would have won if we had 11, crap crap crap.

We dropped points because we were outplayed, our players and staff ned to take the blame for this and we need to stop looking for reasons that excuse a piss poor performance.

I agree that we were poor 1st half in an attacking sense with players unaccountably giving the ball away but I thought that we defended excellently against a big tough athletic side, conceding no goalscoring chances whatsoever until, once again, a missed header led to a chance & a soft goal.

However I thought we looked very much like scoring 2nd half & recon Zabba's dismissal ruined what was becoming a very good performance in very hard fought & pretty good game. Teams aren't going to roll over for us like they do for some, we'll have to earn our point (s) all season & we did in that game.

I don't know about you guys, but I had an inkling that Zabs was going to get a second yellow right after he received the first. A smart tactical manager could have brought him off before he got the second.

I've just read the match thread. Seems I wasn't the only one.

Its just a question about opinion mate, that's all. How you felt the game was going after we scored and before the sending off...

Its even more realistic than the prediction threads IMO? Like what will the attendance be and who will score in what minute...

I felt we were slowly taking control of the game and it reminded me of the Villa game only against lesser opposition - I wanted to see if the majority on here felt the same.

They did.

No offence mate. Just thought to lighten it up a bit. I didn't vote but no, I don't think we looked like winning it even if Zaba had stayed on. Getting a point from that match was good in my opinion. Funny how much we missed Bellers even with Ade and Tevez playing!!
As for the Villa match, I think we could (and should) have won it, if MH had made the right substitutions at the right time.

No worries!

I thought Hughes DID make the right substitutions at the right time in the Villa match... and it earned us what turned out to be a valuable point - something neither Liverpool or Chelsea could acheive!

What subs would you have made?

This is a subject that keeps cropping up and it fascinates me this season, because I think the changes he's made have had a positive outcome in almost every game?
