Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Inside the Ground.
Thought the Blues fans were impeccable today. Brilliant atmosphere inside singing loud and proud for much of the match. Take a bow one and all.
Outside the ground.
Had to wait outside the ground for a mate to collect his ticket until about 5 mins before kick-off, now I normally find that getting to the ground for City fans wearing colours at The Swamp is reasonable, it tends to be when you leave that you encounter problems. Today their seemed to be an extra edge to proceedings with many Blues wearing colours coming under sustained verbal attack on their walk to the ground. Amongst these were a couple of girls almost reduced to tears at the level of vitriol that they received. I then watched as kick-off approached as a large crowd of U****d fans gathered around the city fans entrance in an intimidating manner. Now I must stress that their was no disorder of note apart from alot of verbal and a bit of pushing and shoving a few punches were thrown, but the Rozzers were always firmly in control without breaking sweat. although it did take them some time to clear away the U****d fans that had no cause or reason to be in the area.
Didn't see too many problems after the game apart from the odd surges and a bit of tub thumping, but I do park my car away from the areas that confrontations may occur.
My point is, although these confrontations and verbal attacks are clearly not acceptable in the modern game, in games such as these where we chose to wear colours to and from the game, should we see them as inevitable and just accept them as going with the territory.
After all we would all probably expect U****d fans to suffer the same torment at our Gaff (as the Cockneys say)

Watching the game on Sky, I thought we did most of the singing. Top marks to everyone involved.
I think you should be able to wear your kit to a match without feeling intimidated. The best atmospheres are when you can have a laugh with the opposition fans.
If we'd been the ones snatching a late winner I wouldn't have sent any of the text messages I received. I know they're making noise to compensate and to pretend that they were comfortable.
We lost a point through a late goal. They've had a good day at the office but anyone can see that our time is still coming.

City fans behave impeccably despite extreme provocation - this seems to be becoming a regular theme these days.
Well done to all involved, you make me proud.

Yeh i was there and the atmosphere was fantastic. Every single city fan was brilliant and we all enjoyed ourselves!! It was a great day but just a shame we lost and i dont mind losing but when you lose when the other team including the ref has cheated, Thats when i get pissed!!
Well done blues and lets just forget about it. We have a job to do on wednesday!!

Today there did seem to be added animosity around the ground. I never like the way they only have a few turnstiles for the away fans an the way you queue up its just asking for trouble. I believe it went off there against Juventus a few years back? Your right though Kippax i didnt see any real trouble just the usual abuse which is expected in a derby game. A few people decided to brake their seats at the end of the game which is disappointing as we dont need to resort to that. Overall though a great atmosphere, we never let our heads drop despite going behind on three occasions.

kippax, I've always wondered do you work or are you a retired millionaire?
I don't know how you seem to go every match all over europe. Must cost a fortune with hotels, food, ale etc etc.

It does cost a fortune mate, which is why next season I will be looking into some form of Sponsorship Deal with some wealthy Arab millionaires. lol.
Seriously though, it's well documented that I run a business based abrod and two smaller UK based businesses, but City come first every time. Everything I do is dependent on what City are doing. But I do pay for it sometimes, which is why I have to stay up 'till midnight to hold a conference call between Los Angeles, Tokyo and Brisbane.
I am actually nearing the 10 year mark of not missing any sort of game for city home or away including tours and friendlies........may do some sort of celebration. A few diet cokes somewhere...(I don't drink either-can't afford to)
