Over the last 18 months, ive never ever been able to get my head around the fact that some people rate Garrido over Bridge. Now, im not saying Bridge is a world beater but most of the time he's proven to be a very competant left back. Garrido can't run or head the ball, his tackling is super dodgy and he turns like a canal boat.

He seems a nice fella and has never complained and does his job with minimal fuss, but im unsure as to how he became such a sentimental favourite.

1) Has this deal even happened? No confirmation anywhere and he's been assigned a squad number on the OS.

2) Does anyone remember Sam Williamson? I wonder where he rocked up. His cameo seems like a lifetime ago.

Not particularly, as he was shite. It's no more sad than you or I failing to play for City imo. If you're shite, you're shite end of! At least he got a free holiday to Thailand out of it, which is more than we got for not being any good!

True. But it's a big comedown. Making your debut at Eastlands in front of 47,000 and then being realeased by non-league Wrexham eighteen months later. I'd be devastated.

Done and dusted, Thanks Gaz!!

From SSN

Lazio have completed the signing of left-back Javier Garrido from Manchester City.

Garrido is a ready-made replacement for Aleksandar Kolarov who moved in the opposite direction to Eastlands earlier this month.

The signing of Kolarov pushed Garrido further down the pecking order at City with the Serbian and Wayne Bridge ahead of him in Roberto Mancini's plans.

Spaniard Garrido struggled to establish himself at City since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2007 and Mancini is willing to let him move as he looks to trim his huge squad.

"Garrido is a Lazio player. He was our first choice to replace Kolarov," said Lazio president Claudio Lotito.

it's subjects like this that persuade me that those on here are still City and we haven't changed as many say.
We appreciate a real pro and give respect where it is deserved.
I'm proud of our treatment of people like Berti and Spanish Gaz.

Cheers, Javi, and good luck for the rest of your career.

I feel way more affinity with Garrido than I will ever feel for the likes of Elano and yes, Torres, should he condescend to join us. Spanish Gaz is the kind of professsional I would be given the opportunity - not the most talented but determined to make the best of what he does have and give what he can to the club without tantrums, sulks, etc..

I find it sad but not surprising that some can't get their heads around this concept.

Best of luck to Javier, I hope he gets plenty of game time in Serie A and proves himself as a decent left back/midfielder
