top of the league though and arse will fuck up

You reckon they will only beat Burnley by 1 goal to nil pmsl?
I reckon they will batter Newcastle 4 nil and batter Burnley 6 nil so that goal difference will blow us away for starters.

Unless they fuck up again lose or draw a game we will need to beat everyone to stand a chance as we can absolutely forget about goal difference being on our side.

I can easily see them getting a draw or loss vs newcastle, fulham, or west ham. The emirates is a silent bundle of nerves that carries on to the players and both fulham & west ham's fan will be well up for getting something vs them, and both games come after playing Siminone's Atletico midweek

Also they are arsenal, fucking up when it the pressure is on is what they do

I agree with you , i can't see the Arse scoring two goals , never mind 4 as Carl thinks.

Especially as Newcastle have big CBs to counter the set pieces

After the highs of Arsenal, was always going to be a low here. Now to see if this team can really pull it together and fight for a title,

Job done despite the nerves. Dead even with 5 to play I’d have bitten your hand off for that at any stage after round 1. It’s up to the boys to do the job each eeek and let arsenal blink first now.

I don’t think both teams win 5, so goal difference not in my head yet, just keep winning.
Tracking back is overrated.

Changes are needed to bring a fresh fight into the team. Don't let anyone rest on their laurels, we need to keep everyone on their toes. Not wholesale changes but a few key ones are needed, we were very poor today in comparison to the arsenal game

Happy with win and going on top of the league. Obviously. However we needed more goals in this match and who does Pep bring on, Savinho !! What has Marmoush done to be sidelined in this fashion. He is a proven goal scorer so why not him replacing Simenyo ?? Even Reinders would have been a better replacement as he at least scores every now and then.

The rest were somewhere else.

Too much went thru Doku and Cherki and was then wasted

1 goal, they reckoned 27 attempts - i don't believe that stat ,We got 3 points and that was the minimum we needed,. A great chance to get well ahead on goal difference. We won't get a better chance in the remaining games .

28 shots 9 on target

Not very clinical. I can understand us being tired after Arsenal but we were sloppy in all areas last night. We created only 3 real chances , Burnley had 2 big chances. We reverted to short meaningless passing for the sake of it and in reality offering no threat. Haaland's goal came from quick direct play and it was the best pass Doku made all night. Happy with the points and although no games against teams fighting relegation are going to be easy, we missed our best opportunity to improve our GD. Cherki, Doku, Semenyo, Nunes, Nouri - too fancy , no threat.
Savinho just not worked out for him
Foden what has happened
Marmoush would have suited him last night

The Aït Nouri experiment needs to stop. He's not up to it this season at all. Next season he might turn out like Nunes has, but this season we need to focus on winning and not bedding him in when at the moment he's out of his depth.

I am not sure this is a game to judge him on but I agree we need to see the season out with our stable lineup before we try to expand to include rotation. We may not have a choice with the Palace game being slotted somewhere, but for the most part we need to maintain factory settings.

Very nervy last night but the 3 points was the most important thing.
We won there 1-0 in one of the title years late games with an Aguero goal that just crossed the line.
This narrative by some that Arsenal will smash every team now is hopefully so far off the mark. They have won 10 league games by 1 goal, have scored less than 2 a game on average and will be more nervous than us with what's happened to them recently.
They have 2 league games before we play Everton. It might b a lot clearer then.

Let's not get drawn in with the media hype and love-in for the Arse, added to your stats, they've just lost two on the bounce in the PL and they're two home games are either side of the slug-fest with Madrid. The pressure will be right up now at home against the barcodes. We've got a cup semi then a week rest before a big game at Everton. I'm happy with where we are plenty to play for.

I know it’s the FA Cup semi‑final, but I don’t really care if he makes seven changes this time. The players were fucked the other day - even Doku didn’t have his usual 'zoom' off the mark.

I’ll forgive the bald one if he goes for wholesale changes this time around.

I keep hearing about Leverkeusen when he changed the whole team and it backfired but he then did it at Newcastle in the cup and we battered them.

I think this time around he will be justified to make lots of changes as just about every single player was well off it and if we are going to win the last few games then every first team player needs to be in top physical shape.
