Guehi acting the same way now. Has anyone seen the video where his manager is shouting him over as they're on the pitch after the Chelsea game and Guehi looks at him, shakes his head and walks off. Wanker

It's ironic that a man who refuses to work wants to move to Liverpool.

To be fair he was denied his move last summer and the put in the best season of his career last year and captained them to a trophy. And he never whinges in the press and is respectful to palace.

This season he's continued in that vein. Wouldn't really put him in the same bracket as Isak and Wissa.

Who denied him his move and to where, last summer? I don't think Palace received a proper offer from anyone, it was all paper talk.

The player has ran his contract down, is on a free next year and is now acting like a dick head to his manager on the pitch. This is a player that promotes he's a Christian with Christian values, his dad is a pastor, etc - acting like that to his manager, whose not denied him anything as the manager doesnt make the decisions, is bellend material.

Probably not on par with Isak, but Isak still has 3 years and this guy has ran his contract down - so who's worse?

Ran his contract down, or honoured the contract he has signed with the club? Two ways of saying the same thing...

You can honour your contract and still run it down. It's two different things.

Milner honoured his contract with us, but had no intention of signing a new one and ran it down giving us lip service while doing so.

Running your contract down means when you're in your final year you back the club into a corner. They either sell for below your value or you leave in 12 months for nothing.

Clubs can offer contracts of any length when signing a player. So the club has a say in how long they think a player will be of value to them. If that happens to be 5 years, say, that's what is signed, so at the end of that contract the club have had their "value" from a player. I see no problem if that player then decides to persue a career elsewhere, so long as they have done the honourable thing and not downed tools while under contract. No different from any other worker choosing to change employer at the end of a contract. That's just my opinion, though.

You can't compare a football player to any other worker. It's a completely different world.

The problem is not with the players, it's with us fans. We view our club, and all its players, from an emotional point of view and expect them to love the club like we do. Very, very few players, with any club, are proper "fans" of the club. They may have some affinity, especially if they are successful at the club. But at the end of the day it's just a job for most of them.
Would you advise anyone in another profession to stick with the job they're currently doing if a better paid job with better prospects of success was on offer? Answer this with your head, not your heart. :D

They turned down 2 bids from Newcastle last summer. Also he's been very open about his contract situation, not like someone like Milner who strung us (club and fans) along lying about wanting to resign.

He's totally entitled not to resign a new contract. Clubs do the same to players all the time and ditch them.

Each to their own but I dont see what he's done wrong. As long as he's putting in a shift on the pitch, and he's easily been one of their top performers.

If you can't see what he's doing wrong from the video I can't help you mate. Treating your manager like that in front of the cameras is way off

Yeah disrespecting your manager in public is wrong. I was purely just refering to his conduct regarding his contract situation and not downing tools etc.

This is the first (and only) time I've seen him do this so could be further context around it. Seen plenty of players do the same (KDB telling Pep to shut up on camera being one that springs to mind - and I know you were consistent in calling that out too).
