Everton have been referred to an independent commission by the Premier League over an alleged breach of financial fair play rules.
The Premier League did not specify in their statement the specifics of the club's rule breach.
However, Everton have posted financial losses in several recent seasons.
The league said the alleged breach is from the 2021-22 campaign, during which the Merseyside club narrowly avoided relegation.
Any reason why they’ve just not been charged? Didn’t we get charged before going independent?

Losses of £327M over the three year period against a permitted figure of £105M - more than treble. Compare that with the clubs that have gone down during the same period and their accounts. Fuck them off to the championship
