I am sensing a common theme to these threads and its only match week eight! The home fans have spent a lot of time discussing the monarchy in the match thread and not the actual game. The other topic on their minds is will Costa play and for how long if he does. Wolves have scored three and conceded four so far this season and both the Beeb and Sly have predicted a low scoring win for City. As always, I will take any kind of win.
COME ON CITY!!!

To be honest - as good as they were in May (and KdB's performance was the best I have ever seen from anyone at Molineux in my 34 years of attendance), we were an absolute rabble. A hammering on the same scale is very bad for Lage. We just about grubbed a win vs Southampton but it hasn't changed anything. We've still had a shit start with a very expensive and talented squad.
Little to no point throwing Costa in for this. Doubtful we'll even see him off the bench if we're being soundly beaten - what's the point? He said himself in the interview on the OS today that he needs 2-3 weeks to get up to speed. He'll be on the bench because we have no one else, but doubt he features. Hopefully we can keep them to zero for as long as possible.
Costa to come on 85th minute and chins Grealish on 89.
I can only hope that Haaland decides to not score any goals as a mark of respect to the Queen (RIP)

Agree. No team playing in the same league as us is unbeatable. A great team like Man City are very difficult to beat yes, but unbeatable no. The Wolves team has excellent players too, a win or draw can be achieved on the day.
Just hope we don't give De Brunye the freedom of Wolverhampton again.
Once upon a time this game would be the most anticipated of the season. Think Man Utd in 2003/04. Can we topple the Champions. The best team in the country. If we all play well. Maybe we can. But that no longer exists. If every one of ours players has a 9/10 game we'll still probably lose. It's literally the least enjoyable fixture of the season. Watching them have the ball for seemingly every second of the contest and getting excited if we get within 50 yards of their goal. You can keep it. Load of *******s.
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm so bored with Man City. They're killing this league
Bit of a dull match, it's a forgone conclusion, shame.
Completely understand your point as it can get painful when they’ll playing the team we support, however they deserve a lot of credit. Best team to watch in Europe when they’re playing someone else. The way they control opposition and how they’ve somehow strengthened this summer whilst making a profit is remarkable.
I detest everything about Man City. Completely bought their way to the league and buy players , not because they want to play them , but to ensure that others cant. You could say similar about all the sky 6 but Citeh are the worst offenders. That said, lets hope one of theirs gets an early bath this week to even it up a bit and we can let Costa have some fun at the end and grab a goal. I can see us getting a point.
Couldn't agree more with your point about buying players. I know Kalvin Philips has been injured for most of this season, but even fully fit how many games will he start in a season? Ten? Fifteen?
What a player he was at Leeds - the heartbeat of the team. Now he's just another City sub, collecting his £150,000 a week and 2 or 3 medals a season. But however much he earns I'm certain when he's 40 he'll wish he'd gone to a club where he started all the games.
That was a poor city but they still win and Dortmund played well. How the **** you defend against haaland I don't know , one sniff of a chance and he's got it…Massive challenge for us Saturday.
I must admit when he got that effort in last night I just wondered who in our team will get the job of trying to keep him quiet on Saturday. He's just so big, fast, skilful and athletic you might need say a prayer that he suffers a strain or similar! But, should be a great treat for fans of all followings .... and then there's de Bruyne ...
The City defence isn't the greatest so chin up we can maybe give them a bit of a shock with our heavy scoring forward line!
I agree with what people are saying about City. It is boring because they're so good. However, this is the feeling yet many on here don't credit Guardiola as the best manager? I guarantee they don't dominate to this extent when he is gone. An absolute genius that we've become normalised to.
Looking forward to kick off where we boot the ball out of play for a throw in, then don’t see the ball for 10 minutes.
Mings and co got a draw out of them a few weeks back so anything can happen. Most likely a Citeh win after us looking threatening in first 20 mins. But lacking a Harland!! It is cheating, basically an oil rich country assembling that lineup but most people realise that now.
Well I'm excited for the game, haven't seen us play City (other than on tv) for ages, really looking forward to seeing Haaland and KdB play. Be good to see how we stack up against the best team in the land, we'll probably lose but you just never know with football. Just hope we don't get panned.
Team news: "Raul is still not available and not working with the team. He needs time to recover and is having some treatment." as we expected, and what i surmised - i expect he might not even return after the international break.
On Diego Costa: "When I first came to Wolves I asked about Diego but he wanted to go back to his country. We are very happy with him but know he needs time to be ready. He is fit but he needs to be ready to compete at this level." … Incoming Costa Cameo – tomorrow.
Any point in turning up???
