Don't disagree with this. I thought they (Foden and Alvarez) didnt start because they would at wolves. We got away with it tonight

Feel like we all knew this since villa.

Pep gives senior players (mahrez, grealish) more chance and never starts alvarez

They are young lads and we have got to ensure we don’t overplay them. We could get fifteen more years out of all three if - and only if - we manage them properly, ie not grinding them into the dust like the rags did with rooney. It is a careful balancing act.

Also Mahrez and Grealish are highly useful in wearing the opposition down so that the youthful legs can take advantage later in games. If they play well and make/score goals, so much the better. But it seems to me that is not all they are being asked to do.

It is a system that is working well at the moment.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Alvarez brilliant when he came on, three times better than Grealish and Mahrez.

Everyone was calling for Foden to be dropped after Villa.

It was Newcastle where foden was wank. Can't remember villa but I take the point.

There's no current risk of burning out alvarez. He's started one game! Rusty if anything

Villa he should have had a blinder. The full back went off injured and Ashley Young came on and Foden wouldn't take him on. Played like Grealish last night, safe option every time.
The next game against Seville he was great.
